why did my downloads just skyrocket?
I've had this happen twice. I go from 1 or 2 downloads a week on some tracks to 140 downloads in a matter of minutes, why is that?

I also have this question. This happened shortly after I signed up. Are you a new user? I haven't had this problem since.
I will also tell you that SC is getting ready to roll out a new update in October, so there may be a small delay in them replying right now.
My experience so far has been that they are attentive and prompt to respond when they are able.

Inappropriate?I know I'm not this popular :) sometimes it will jump up 30+ downloads between screen refreshes. very odd, and kind of annoying because I dont get a real idea of how many times my mixes are being downloaded.

without knowing the specific track or having looked at your profile etc it could be that someone posted the link to your direct download somewhere on a blog or forum. Also, sometimes depending on the search relevance of your track name, that could affect the number of downloads.
Have you tried doing a "counter-search" for your track to see if it was posted somewhere?

I've seen this behavior on several tracks that I have uploaded. going from an average of 6 or 7 downloads a week to 150-200 in 12 hours. I would suspect that it had been posted somewhere if my plays went up as well, or if the downloads were more spread out. -
Inappropriate?Sure, I meant to say to try and search for your track name on Google or Google Blogsearch to see if someone posted it on a blog or a forum.

Inappropriate?yep, Ive been checking google and hypem to see if me tracks are showing up and they arent. I have a buddy that has posted a few on his lightly traveled local fashion blog but when I was having him link to mediafire he was only generating about 30 downloads over a week. I guess this would be a good reason to go pro :)1 Comment

Check out this track. It wasn't long after I first joined up (maybe a couple of weeks) that this track tripled in downloads. I am also curious as to the reason behind this.
