waveform rendering taking too long...

same here. Waveforming is taking ages/doesn't work

it seems to work now, not sure if rendering goes faster now.

Had uploaded 9 tracks, waited over 24 hours, and still no waveform, & no playability. I've since deleted them. Now waiting for 1-minute long track to display.

I've had this problem on both very short and very long tracks - track length appears to have nothing to do with the problem. It would be nice if someone at SoundCloud could fix the problem or, at least, offer an explanation for why this problem sometimes occurs.

Never had a problem b4 \but I uploaded a 320MB set 2 days ago and it still isn't up. r we 2 assume they will get to it and don't delete the file????

I uploaded a track nearly 2 hours ago.. since then he is rendering... :(

I now tried to upload the file for the third time... The upload is successful but the "Rendering Waveform" take forever.. Its a simple .mp3 file with 40 MB.
My SC UserName is Shuqq. I would be really glad if someone could help me..

i'm also having this problem at the moment.. it's uploaded but when i go to play it it just says 'creating waveform'

I think SC has been acting slow this week. I've never experienced the long waveform creation problem before.

i'm re-uploading and crossing my fingers it may just work...

I uploaded, then re-uploaded my 5.2mb 196k mp3 file. Eight hours later, still no joy!

I re-re-uploaded my track 8 hours ago but the waveform creation is still going on.
I tried in MP3 and wav format : same result.
(Maybe I should paint the waveform by myself on the screen...)

I'm starting to lose any hope!

Not normal, I guess the cue service is halted in some way. Hopefully SC is able to fix it fast :-)

I've still got 'oh, damn' so I'm going to try to re-upload the file. Don't know if this will help, but that's the thing with services that usually work -- you never get a chance to try workarounds.

For those playing along at home, it doesn't help to 'replace file' if you're already at the 'Sorry, that track is too hot for us!' stage.

Upload, replace audio is one area I really would wish the SC people would focus on. Since day one when I started using SC, upload has been a problem. The "normal" uploader has never worked here with Firefox or IE. I always have to you the oldschool uploader. And the replace routine doesn't work at all, I have to delete my audio, and upload a new file.

I would forget all about other features, and make uploading, replace audio priority number one, since this is the major function of SC.

Tried and failed again. Weird. I wonder if it will try again spontaneously?

yep lately been a problem! just standard mp3 160kbps 80mb 44.1khz. taking an hour to show WAV, still waiting.

Hey guys! I've had similar issues sometimes, but usually you just have to be a bit pacient, wait a few minutes and refresh your browser.

WHEN will this problem be resolved? I just spent the last 2 hours trying to create wave forms... I tried the work around and it didnt work either (replacing songs).

This problem seems to be have reported for a YEAR now and nothing has been fixed as many people are still getting this problem.

Still waiting after 12 hours. Now there is a message saying that the track is too hot for them... Why is the wav form needed to even play the song? can't a temp image be put in it's place so people can at least share it while the wav form is being created???

so are you guys looking at fixing the waveform taking literally forever to be created problem? I am noticing that still this is taking forever.

after countless hours and a break for supper, mine are finally working. but it really makes using soundcloud unpleasant... Dear Soundcloud - please buy servers or technology to fix this with our money... forget about all the fancy features that your adding.

Well, this is a temporal problem that occurs when the servers get overloaded by unusually heavy amounts of files being uploaded at the same time.

I've heard that Soundcloud Staff are working extensively (weekends too) to solve this and other issues with this week's update (and the following ones).

It's really a misterious problem. The rendering will take forever. Unless you delete the track, upload it again, the exact same track/name/etc. and then it will render ok, in a minute or so. Strange thing, eh ?

still having this same problem, have done every time ive used the soundcloud in the last month or so... its very annoying! usually having to wait a day after uploading before i can see my tracks on soundcloud. hopefully u guys will be able to fix it tho! i have faith...

I am thinking of paying for this service, but seeing all the upload issues I don't know if I will now. I tried uploading a small file and have found the same issue. I thought it was stuck and closed the browser, now my dashboard says that I have a track uploaded but I can't find it! I'm afraid I just screwed up my upload limit.

That's good to hear. In my dashboard under You-->tracks it lists 1. When I click that it takes me to a screen that shows 0 tracks and my YOU status changes to 0 on that screen.

I have a track currently in the status of "Creating waveform". It's been like that for 22 hours! So far, that is.
I've read that sometimes it helps to remove it and re-upload it. Would the failed track count as part of the uploading allowance?

I can't even try the "work-around" now as the "replace file" isn't available. Should I delete it and try again?

Just had same problem. Tried deleting other tracks and uploading again. Still just says rendering. This is really annoying! Uploaded larger WAV version on fri with no issues

still hanging up on the waveforms.....this really needs to be resolved for me to continue to pay for my Pro account.

excellent - uploading is really quick but the 'finishing' takes hours (so far 3 attempts and over 4 hours without it completing once)... i would happily pay €29 for this service if i believed it would actually work properly - but using soundcloud is just frustrating and completely unreliable (now i remember why i rarely use it)...
