too many tracks in the dropbox
I get too many tracks in my label dropbox; why does public tracks get in there? I doubt that I've received so many tracks. As it is now, the ones that I really received get lost.
Another thing: can people send me their tracks without registering on soundcloud ?

I believe we've now come up with a solution for the 'spammed' DropBox problems, at least for now.
We’ve separated between two kinds of incoming tracks. The first tab will only show tracks that are uploaded specifically for you via your DropBox. These are tracks that are only shared to a single person – you.
The second tab now shows the tracks that have been privately shared to you by people you’re not following. These tracks may also be shared to more people than just you.
Tracks in the dashboard are still always only from the people you are following.

we're aware of this problem. soon there will be a filter so that only items really sent through your dropbox will show there, with another tab for the ones that were sent privately from people who you don't follow. today they are mixed.

This sounds promising but could we extend this somewhat.
For example, I don't want tracks from people who I'm not following (I'm not a label so I don't want to encourage it). I'd like an option in my profile whereby if they tried to send me a track your system would discard it. I can effectively opt-out of the "spam" technique that's becoming prevalent. However, the option to receive this "spam" from people who I am following would be good.
I see this as being a method that satisfies both the label-users and artist-users. If I want stuff from a label, I simply follow them, and they are free to privately share stuff with me. I know that I could simply just ignore the contents of this new section/filter of the dropbox, but i think it would be a cleaner solution if I didn't have to see it at all. Plus, this would allow the two sections of the dropbox to work for me. The public dropbox, and the private one which only my followers can "share into".
Alternatively, why not restrict the number of users to which a track can be shared. So a label who wants to "spam" people about a hot new track can be restricted to only sharing with 20 people who are not actually followers of the label. They get a sample of the track out there and if it's any good word will spread. Sharing a track with people following the label could be unrestricted.
I realise that this might not be the clearest explanation in the world, but feel free to get in touch directly, and I'll try to make it a bit clearer.

@maurice all good points, expect something similar *very* soon -

Inappropriate?Hi Eric,
This seems to have resolved the problem for me. Would be nice to have a "delete all" option in the second tab which would make it easier to clean up the "spam" :-) Of course, I think I've already suggested a multi-delete option in this thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/soundcloud...
Cheers,
Maurice
