Soundcloud via mobile, RSS, and podcast
It would be really nice to have access to my dashboard in mobile, RSS, and/or podcast form. Most of my media *consumption* happens in a wireless/mobile fashion - I'd like to use soundcloud that way. The desktop web interface is great for the act of administering music *publication* and *distribution*. Keep up the great work!

Where? I can't access an RSS / podcast feed of anything on SoundCloud by SoundCloud. Am I missing something?

I'd like to see a feed for the overall dashboard, plus sub-feeds for the individual categories on the dashboard - e.g. tracks, comments, favourites, followers.

Inappropriate?hm - why not then for searches also? so if i search for ragga, should there not also be a "ragga" rss feed I can subscribe to to stay up to date on sound-cloud wide RSS? (or at least if browsing by the tag "ragga" i would expect it, but I don't see tag based views as yet) -

Inappropriate?I've created one using Yahoo Pipes. You can plug your username in there and get a feed customized for your tracks that displays plays and downloands in the title of the feed. Give it a try.

John, I had a similar problem. Off the Pipes page, you have to copy the RSS link (http://...) before pasting it into an RSS reader. If you're like me and using a Mac, when you click on the RSS feed, Safari will open it as a feed://.... - this will not work in RSS readers like Google or Netvibes.
Nonetheless, your solution looks good. I assume you used something like PHP to parse the JSON feed. I think one difference in our approaches is that Pipes allowed the concatenation of the track plays and downloads back into the title of the RSS feed. This is probably something you could script as well.
All in all, I think what you have also demonstrated is the flexibility of the SoundCloud api. You can consume the XML or JSON feed with just about anything. Thanks for sharing! -

Inappropriate?FWIW, if we do get podcast support, it would be super if it was full itunes RSS with all the itunes metadata, so it could be dropped straight into the iTunes store. just sayin'.

Yeah, that is peculiar. I do not see it. And the workaround is not the same as a dashboard feed.
For me, the majority of my music listening (commercial, ccmixter, etc.) is mobile, not while sitting in front of a web browser. And it seems like this is a trend that Soundcloud would not want to punt.
