Proper tag functionality - Tags are for searching!
You need:
1) more than one tag - design wise, you could move the mini stats graphic to the right of the now multiple tags
2) a tags page (alongside Dashboard, You, Tracks, etc) with a tag cloud etc
3) a tags search tab (alongside Tracks, People and Groups)

Inappropriate?first of all: clickable tags!
Actually, I don't know the reason of non-clickable tags.
Tags are for navigation in sites like soundcloud.
And of course the smart URI for tags, e.g.:
http://tags.soundcloud.com/[tag1]+[tag2]-[tag3]
And it's not a bug deal to do: I think a smart .htaccess configuration is the key.
And a small ajax (json etc) input box (for creating the smart URI); and a pressbutton to jump to the custom URI (of curse: the [enter] key does the same).

Inappropriate?curse=course
'-[tag]' is for excluding the tag (the '-[house]' and '-[(containing:)house]' would be my default tags - I've heard good house, sometimes. But when I tried to explore the soundcloud I gave up, 'cause got rid of clicking 'next')
[genre:(genre)], [artist:(artist)], [year:(year)] is just a regexp sentence away from the smart URI (-> http://genre.soundcloud.com/[genre :genre])
And a '*' (star) at the end of the clickable tag to save the tag to http://tags.soundcloud.com/[user]/[tag1]+[tag2]+..+[tagn]
