Only people who are signed-up to Soundcloud can send me a file with the drop-box?
I tried to send myself a track to test if the drop-box was working. I clicked on my own blog's drop-box, followed all the steps, uploaded a track and received the confirmation email. I clicked on it to confirm. But when I go to my drop-box there's nothing there.
As I uploaded the file from another computer, when I clicked to confirm in the email I received, I remember reading something like "you are not a soundcloud member yet, click to sign up" - is that what's happening? Everybody has to sign-up or the files are not delivered?
I would be very grateful if I could get an answer as soon as possible,
Thank you,
Marlos Bakker

Inappropriate?Ok, now I signed up with a different name and password, just for a test purpose, to see if the tracks I've sent to myself would finally be available in my /tracks/others folder. More than 2 hours have passed and nothing yet...
I would really appreciate some help over here.
Thanks,
Marlos

Inappropriate?Hey Marlos,
to avoid spamming we need to create an account for users to drop tracks to your Dropbox but we try to make it very easy to do so. So in a sense, yes, people have to sign up for an account to be able to send a track.
As for the missing tracks: that could be tied to caching issue we saw yesterday but were unable to address in time. Could I ask you to check if they're in your /tracks/other folder?
I've also just sent you a test track to your Dropbox.
Keep me updated, will you?
Cheers, David -
Inappropriate?Hi David, thanks for your answer.
The track that you sent me (test track) is now in my tracks/others folder but the 2 tracks that I sent to myself signed up with a different name never came. As I wrote before, I signed up, confirmed the received email's link, but nothing until now...
Should I try a third time?
I'll be waiting for your answer,
Thanks,
Marlos

Hey Marlos, we discovered some caching issues yesterday and hope to deploy the fix within the next two hours. I'd kindly ask you to wait for the roll-out of the fix to see if that solves the problem. Ok for you? -
Fix is rolled-out, could you check. -
Nothing here, should I give up these old tracks and try again with a new one? -
the one thing that could cause this is that if you have used the same email address for different accounts, also as secondary email addresses. If you test with two different accounts, make sure to also have two completely separate email addresses for each account -
Ok, I might have done that, I'll try with a different one and let you know if it's working now... -
Inappropriate?Hi David, I couldn't answer you before but after checking the email I used I saw it was a different one from the one I'm using as my Soundcloud default email. And I have no secondary email in my account also. So, I think the 2 first tracks are really missing. I'll try to upload a new one now and see waht happens. Thanks,
Marlos

Ok, now I have the test track in my tracks/others folder. Whatever caching issue happened during the weekend it must have lost my 2 first test tracks. But now I can see the 3rd one here. Thanks anyway,
Marlos -
Good news, thanks Marlos! Sorry about the inconvenience, my guess is that the tracks haven't been processed in the first place which is unfortunate. Again, apologies for your troubles.
