My uploads won't complete on Soundcloud :(
My uploads won't complete on Soundcloud. I have flash installed, and have tried different web browsers. I have tried different tracks/mixes, and have tried uploading different formats. I have also tried different networks and the old skool uploader. No joy! Can anyone help?

Inappropriate?Richard, that sounds odd. Looks like you've tried everything. What's your SC username?
-
Inappropriate?have you tried uploading a short (less than 10mb) track using the oldschool uploader? how long do you have to wait for it to complete/fail?
-
Inappropriate?Hi.
Thanks for getting back to me.
Firstly, my SC username is i-level.
Secondly, shorter tracks will fully upload on both new and old skool uploader, It's only when I try to save the track, that the server crashes. With dj mixes over 40 minutes, when I use the new skool uploader, the upload will get somewhere through the upload, then re-start. On the old skool uploader, the upload doesn't start at all. I'm thinking it could be server problems?

Inappropriate?hi Rich,
hm, it looks as if your connection is experiencing timeouts :/
how are you sure, that old school upload doesn't start? do you get 'contacting soundcloud.com...' in your browsers status bar?
the thing is is, that is not going to be any browser feedback (progress bar, etc.) as you're uploading with old school uplaoder. that's why it's called 'old-school' :) it will simply load the track page when the upload is finished.
I would strongly recommend you try out the old school uploader one more time, because it provides more reliable connection with uploads server.

Inappropriate?Hi Matas.
Thank you for your reply.
I will try the old school uploader again.

Inappropriate?Ready to tear my hair out quite frankly... Been trying to upload for over 3 days now and it just will not do anything. Have tried it all - a really small file (5mb), upgraded my browser, left it to sort itself out overnight, used the old skool downloader, and whatever else...but there you go, always the same crap.
Initially it seems like it's uploading unusually quick and then gets to the end or near the ned and just stops right there for all eternity. In fact if I try and go back to my dashboard from an attempted download that has stuck, my browser freezes up and I have to restart repeatedly... Aaaarrrrgh.....
What is going on......
I’m more than a little pissed off!

Hi Valerie, sorry to hear you've been experiencing troubles while uploading. From distance, that sounds like something related to a time-out of the internet connection: are you on Wifi or plugged-in? If on Wifi, please try the old-skool uploader with your cable plugged in. Plus, please try a this using a different browser. That way, we can narrow it down a bit if the problem persists. Please let us know your browser and version in any case. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Well I've tried this with Firefox 3.5, IE8, Chrome, plugged in connection, there's totally no way i can upload anything. The moment I select the file which is around 50 mb, the progress bar hits %58 in just 1 second and then it freezes forever.... Please help :(((
I’m nuts!

Can you try this: http://soundcloud.com/upload#old-skool -
Inappropriate?Ok i've tried this with a chrome-incognito window and this worked, thank you, hope the other problems will be cleared out soon...
Thanks for your response...
Cheers from Istanbul...
I’m ok :)

Cool! What other problems do you mean? -
Inappropriate?I mean the non-oldskool version, it counts to %70-90 in just a second and halts... I'm going to share some sets over soundcloud and a lot of people may register since my podcasts reach about 100.000 people some months, we cannot tell everyone to use the oldskool version one by one if they are interested....

that's odd since I haven't experienced any issues on my end, uploaded several tracks in the past week using the regular Flash uploader. Might have several causes: Flash version, file size, internet connection, Wifi vs. plugged in. Would need more details to narrow this down. -
Inappropriate?David - your replies really worry me. Why does it have to be "Flash version, file size, internet connection, Wifi vs. plugged in" etc etc?
Forget using a different browser - your product should be cross-browser compatible.
Forget Flash versions - you should be coding for the most prevalent version, which is usually 1-2 versions behind the latest available. And your code should be robust enough to handle intermediate releases like FP9.115 etc.
Uploads seem to be a major problem here (see my latest frustrating attempts to upload - http://support.soundcloud.com/soundcl...)
I’m frustrated

Thanks for your feedback, monstr. I use SC in three browsers every day and it works (FF, Chrome, Safari). If something's up, it probably a bug or a setting on the user side. Want to try out the beta of the Air desktop uploader? http://scup.dasflash.com/
