monthly limits
could we have a countdown timer for how many days are left before a new SC 'month' starts?
I upload 5 songs, delete one, can I upload another one?
If I upload 3 songs one month, do the other two uploads rollover into the next month?
Thanks

Inappropriate?we count your upload quota by having a look at tracks uploaded the recet 30 days. You'll be noticed when you have a few left. when deleting a track from your profile you should be able to upload a new one! Replacing tracks won't have an affect on the upload quota at all!
I’m confident
-
Inappropriate?I deleted one track, but it does not give me a credit for uploading a new one.
why?
and why do I have 12 tracks and I have my account since 4 months (4 x 5 uploads= 20 uploads) and my upload limit is reached? Even I'm pretty sure that I Uploadet only 2 tracks this month.
cheers

Inappropriate?Am sort of along the same lines as this question, though not about 'if I delete one can I upload another'. What I'd find handy is to have a clear number saying how many tracks I have left to upload. Is this possible?
I had a nine track album to upload but couldn't find how many tracks I had left to upload. Selected the tracks and it wasn't until this page that I was told I could only upload five. This meant I cancelled the upload because I want the whole album together.
Thanks

Inappropriate?I think it would be good, to have a down-counter on your SC profile, that always will show you how many tracks you have left to upload. This way you could always see how many tracks you could upload in the current month.
-
Inappropriate?yes, please add a counter so we can have a better idea of our track count status. thanks.
-
Inappropriate?the way we count your upload quota is by having a look at your
available uploads per month minus the amount of tracks you've been
uploading the latest 30 days.
so let's say you've used all your uploads, have a look at your oldest one within the latest 30 days and count 30 days from that one. that's when you'll have a new upload.
hope that makes sense! -
What a fiddle!?! I've just gone through 5 pages of tracks with uploads ranging from 4-10 days. Then the counter changes from days to 'about 1 month ago'. A little ambiguous.
Would be a lot easier, and more user friendly, just to have a counter. Is it a massive coding headache to implement a counter? -
Inappropriate?Nils,
I don't get why you guys are so obtuse about this. Since limits were imposed, the following info has been displayed in every page I've requested from Soundcloud:
window.settings = {"currentUser":{"plan":1,"permalink":"mo-le-starre","quota":{"uploads":15,"playlists":Infinity},....
I just uploaded a track and my "uploads" value dropped to 14.
I then deleted the track I just uploaded, and my "uploads" value increased to 15.
I'm on the Pro-Light account so my monthly limit is 15.
The information is very obviously available - it's embedded in every page I request. It's also updated in real time. Why not just display it through a page and save me from having to Ctrl/Cmd-U every time :-)
Cheers,
Mo
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? Thanks Maurice. It's crude but at least it gives an accurate figure quickly. Just found out I have 8 more uploads so can put the next album up (6 tracks) without wondering if I'll be informed half way through that I've used up my monthly allowance.
Oh, if only there was a counter showing on the page...
I’m mildly frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Maybe the info is available via the Soundcloud API and someone at the Hackaday event can write a groovy site to display it for you :-)
I’m kidding
-
Inappropriate?Has this been sorted?
Just went to the upload page and was presented with an orange box saying "You have 2 uploads left for this month." Simple and clean. I knew straight away without any fuss where I stood.
Cheers SC!
I’m happy
