Group upload (+ normal upload, replace) doesn't work here at all with Firefox 3.0.11
I've never really been happy about the uploading /encoding routines (new, oldschool, group, replace routine). The normal upload doesn't work either, and I think the group upload is based on that?! The only upload routine that works here, is the oldschool uploader.
Another problem is the process meter, how much of the file that has been uploaded. Its simply doens't work right, and never has. Sometimes its race up to about 90% finish from the beginning of an upload. And other times it only goes half up. Its completely random, can can't be trusted for checking up on how much of the file that is uploaded.
Another big problem is the encoding routine on the SC servers. When the file is uploaded, its just out of hand, and you'll never know when its finished. It would be great, is it was possible to show the user how long it will take to process the uploaded file with an gauge meter.
To sum up:
I think the uploading routines is a big hanging problem in general. They often doesn't work or takes forever to finish. And the screen updating about how long it will take to finish is not really usable. So SC, please put some more time into the haunted uploading routines, that spoils the fun.

Inappropriate?Well, I've managed to use the oldschool uploader. But this is the only way I can upload files to SC. The newschool uploaders doesn't work with Firefox. I've just been told, that Firefox 3.5 is public released, so i'll better try the upload out after updating.
I would also love to have some better callback routines, that actually showed the use how much of the file that were uploaded. I really don't know what is going on with the info you'll get now. It can't be used or trusted for anything, as it seems to be random on each upload. Sometimes 10% is uploaded, and other times it goes right up to 90% the minute you press "ok" to upload.
Is there a chance, that it would be possible, to make the uploading routines steady, for example with a certain browser like Firefox or Internet Explorer. And with what browser do the "normal" newschool uploaders/replace routines work correctly?
All the best,
SLL

Inappropriate?yeah - it works fine for me in 3.5. most of these issues aren't browser specific but have to do with other stuff on our side.

Inappropriate?To be honest!
What is the point of havin the old school uploader???
There should just be ONE uploader that works!!!!
I’m anxious

Inappropriate?Tip for uploading a set!!!!
This only works if you upload a set!
I use mac too so i don't know about Windows!!!
If your uploading a set & it freezes, turn off your airport or unplug your internet cable! SoundCloud should say, "Ooops! Error while uploading, will try again in 30 seconds!" Turn your airport back on or plug your internet cable back in & it should restart the upload!! The crashed track should restart!!!
This doesn't work if it crashes on the first track, but for example if 3 tracks had finished uploading & the next track crashed half way through, you can restart the crashed track while keeping the previously uploaded tracks!!!
Basically this saves you from having to start the upload all over again!
Hope this helps the frustration of a crashed upload!
Take it easy!
Rico.
