Distorted track playback on all platforms
There's severe distortion and garbled sound throughout a particular track that I've been trying to upload. I've tried a number of formats, including 256kbps Lame mp3, 128kbps Lame mp3, 96kbps Lame mp3, 16-bit wav and 32-bit wav. I've also tried different mastering approaches and software, including L2, UAD Sonic Maximizer, and no post-processing whatsoever. The 32-bit wav file was generated by Cubase 3, all others were mastered using Wavelab.
The distortion is very similar on every format and mastering approach that I've taken and the original track sounds fine on a wide variety of playback systems, including Event 20/20 bas monitors, iMac speakers, Logitech L4 2.1 speakers, headphones, car stereo, etc.
This track is only distorted when playing back from Soundcloud, so it appears that something is wrong with the encoder on your end. Could you try re-encoding this file?

Note: I've tried uploading the file and playing it back from Soundcloud using a PC running XP SP3 and a Mac running OSX 10.5.7. Both systems are using the latest version of Flash 10. I get the same distortion problem when playing back with IE7 or FF3.

Inappropriate?@derek: we had a listen at the track but couldn't hear the artifacts you're describing. However we could hear a small loss of quality but no more than it would be with the compressing into 128kb/s mp3 (we do that for the streaming). If you could record the garbled sounds being played through your speakers and send it to us, that would help us a lot!
