not sure what is going on. i press play, the button changes to a 'pause' symbol, and no sound, no moving track position indicator, and the time stays at 0.00
what's the deal?
i have never been able to listen to a track on soundcloud. not yet.

Hey, we did some more research on the flashblock issue. Turns out that you have to block soundcloud.com and not www.soundcloud.com. then it will work!
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Hey Joel, thanks for the report. Not exactly sure what the problem is, we haven't been able to duplicate it and it seems to be working as intended for other users. Please make sure you have the latest flash player installed though (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashpl...) as that's helped on a few other similar occasions. By the way – what browser are you using? Would it be possible for you to see if you have the same issues with a different browser?
-
Inappropriate?Same problem here - play button flashes when I mouseover, but nothing happens when I click. Firefox 2.0.0.12, Flash 9.0.115.0, Ubuntu 7.10. No other Flash problems (I use the flashblock plugin with Firefox, but I've whitelisted soundcloud just in case). Javascript enabled.
And it doesn't work in Opera either, but that's not your problem (opera 9.27 doesn't like the latest flashplayer).
And while I'm here, the cursor in this input box is invisible, and _two_ CAPTCHAS just to post a help question is overkill... -
On the Opera issue: You version 9.5+ for it to work with flash and sound, it's a problem on Opera's end. -
thanks! didn't even realise 9.51 was out. that helps a lot. -
Inappropriate?@Hello, thanks a lot for the detailed report! We're investigating what this might be due to right now (looks like some issues with out Content delivery Network). We hope to do some upgrades on our servers later this week that will hopefully fix everything. Are the playback issues consistent across all tracks on the site?
Oh, and the cursors on the input box and the captchas I'm afraid are by getsatisfaction.com and not something we can change I'm afraid!
thx! -
thanks for the quick response... i've only just joined so i'm not sure i've tried all ways to play tracks. but i can't play using the built-in player any of the 'hot tracks' or 'latest public tracks', or by opening an individual track in its own window. play button just leads to a link 'http://soundcloud.com/latest#play' or similar...
i can download tracks and make comments in tracks.
hope you can help either fix the problem or find out what i'm doing wrong, cos the site looks great. -
Inappropriate?the same here.
loading the track is working,
but unfortunately not playing the loaded parts/tracks.
hope you can fix that. -
Inappropriate?Hey all, just a quick update to say that we're still trying to figure this one out! Will post more info as soon as we make some progress. If anybody else is having the same issue please let us know what browser/flash version & operating system you're on. thanks all.

i just updated flashplayer to 9.0 r124 but no joy. -
Hi Alexander, I've found the problem at my end - it is with the flashblock plugin for Firefox.
Whitelisting soundcloud.com doesn't help, neither does switching off flashblock in the plugin's own preferences. But if I disable it completely from Firefox plugin prefs (which requires a browser restart for each change) then hooray, music at soundcloud works and sounds great.
Flashblock is a great thing though and it'd be handy if soundcloud and it could get along. Don't know if that's possible? -
Ah, ok. Strange that it needs to be totally disabled! I'll have a look into it during the weekend and see if I can come up with some way of getting them to play nicely together! Thanks for letting us know what it was! -
