sadly, no changes on this problem. Adobe, the maker of Flash Player is aware of this problem:
http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-377
it concerns all the web services using the flash uploaders, so let's hope they'll fix it someday.
for now, please use the old-school uploader to upload your tracks. we hope, in a future we'll be able to offer our users multiple upload alternatives through desktop clients, widgets etc.
p.s. there's one more trick you could try: http://zuuumeristi.wordpress.com/2007...
I know, it's ugly, but it works fo now.

Inappropriate?the uploaders sometimes fail on Linux, seems to be some issue with flash player version for Linux. Please use the old school track uploader (click on 'old-school uploader' link on http://soundcloud.com/upload), till we've fixed it.
as for profile pictures, we'll look into it.

Thanks for the answer. The oldschool uploader works perfectly. If this can help, i'm using flash player 10.0r12 on firefox 3.0.4. -

Inappropriate?I love the look of Soundcloud, but I can't get it working... I have a free account. Here's the issue:
I'm trying, as a 'test', to upload a 55MB mix. I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 and Firefox 3.0.6. The 'new' uploader is a complete bust -- the screen greys out, nothing happens, eventually (15 mins) I get bored and force-quit the browser. Now, I know there are some issues generally with Flash/Firefox 3.n/Ubuntu, so this isn't so surprising. However, the 'old' uploader isn't much better. It doesn't hang the browser, but it gives no indication that anything is happening; no 'countdown' timer appears (I'm told it's meant to), the status bar at the bottom of the window says 'sending request to soundcloud.com' without ever progressing... Again, after 30 mins or so I get bored and click 'cancel', which does work. So basically, the only difference between the 'old' and 'new' uploaders is that the new one doesn't work and crashes the browser, the old doesn't work but doesn't crash.
I've tried using a different browser (Epiphany) with exactly the same results. Searching this forum hasn't turned up anyone having the same issue, so I'm guessing this is some problem with Ubuntu. Anyone else had similar difficulties? Any workarounds?
I'd love to get this working, cos it looks great.. but I'm stymied at the moment.

Uploading never gets going; Ubuntu, Firefox.
I’m slightly disappointed, but hopeful of eventual success.
