"uploaded new track" email notifications not working?
just uploaded a new track and shared privately. usually notifications are sent out via email and fellow soundcloud users listen instantly. but this time nothing happened. i called a buddy to whom i shared the track too and he indeed did NOT get the email notification.
is this a common problem?

Inappropriate?Hey Gerd, so you've shared it via email? Couple of things:
- did he check his spam folder
- does he maybe have opted out of the email notifications?
Let me know and we can narrow this down, ok :)

hey david, thanks for your reply. No i didn't share by email. i just uploaded a new track and shared it with people i am following and followers... normally when i do this people get sent a notification by email... i had contact with 8 people in the mean time and they all didn't receive the notification nor did they see i uploaded a new track when they went on to soundcloud... so no notification in their dashboard either... but when they went to my tracks, then they found it...
so yeah: usually when i upload a track and share it to ppl i am follwoing and followers they should get an email, right? they sure should see it in their dashboard...
again: i contacted 8 persons about it and none of them changed their settings, no emails in spamboxes and no notification on their dashboard either...
i deleted the track in question in the mean time...
will try again...

we just tested it from two different computers and users and it worked. It's hard to tell what has happened here since it appears you have removed the track again? What is your username by the way?3 Comments Add a comment

hey david,
my sound cloud username is gerd and i just uploaded the track again... when uploaded soundcloud says: "Done, invitations will be sent out as soon as we've processed your track" but again nothing (no email notifications, no dashboard notifications)... maybe soundcloud takes longer to process than usual? i wll leave it for a couple of hours to see what will happen... -
Hey Gerd, that might be the case. We're currently seeing some delays in the waveform creation and it will only send out the notifications by the time the waveform has been created so I suspect it is tied to that. Keep an eye out on the beast and let me know if it unleashed later :)

Oh well... than i think this is NOT the problem since the waveform has been created an hour ago already... still no (email and dashboard) notifications... so, if you say notifications are sent out as soon as the waveform has been processed, well then something else is going on, i am afraid...

The system says that all users that have received the track show Dashboard events. The developer is one of them:
