A comment on the problem "Wordpress/godaddy embed sc link problem." in SoundCloud:
Thanks. If I go to WP manage plugins, I only see three options. Not including soundcloud. If I search for plugins inside WP, I don't see SC. Form what you say, I assume it's godaddy's problem. The issue doesn't turn up in their technical forums. I am much more interested in soundcloud than godaddy or wordpress but need a sc enabled blogging platform. Are you allowed to make recommendations?
Thanks! sc support has been responsive and helpful.
I am vexed because godaddy has promoted WP. – mfritter, on November 05, 2009 14:15

Wordpress/godaddy embed sc link problem.I'm running wordpress hosted by godaddy.
[soundcloud url="http://soundcloud.com/user1620611/bluegreen"]
However, the engine just renders it as html. The soundcound widget is not displayed.
You can see this at:

I have tried pasting in other links from various samples I goggled up, and get the same results.
Am I completely obtuse? I hope so! I'm just getting started.

David,
Do you host your own cloud? I assume transcoding these things is processor intensive. Now I'm uploading a straight mp3, so I'm not sure why it needs to be "transcoded" -- or even that the means in this context. It would be interesting to know what value is added.
Perhaps you could add a "low-fi" option and bypass this step.

Well, I just up-loaded, and closed the browser and came back some hours later and it was done - as per David's suggestion above. I assume the problem is with general load on their servers and not with any specific file I'm uploading. We'll see. – mfritter, on November 03, 2009 22:46

Ok, I'm a new user and am having the "waveform is hung/stuck whatever" problem(s). The file in question is pretty small -- 12.7 megs.
Here's my question: if I close the browser page showing the waveform generation message does the waveform generation/transcoding continue or do I have to keep the browser open to the page?
Couldn't tell from the comments on this thread, but I may have missed it.
Thanks!
