The user you shared the tracks to has not listened to the tracks. The only account that has listened to the track is your own. The graph in your screen shot shows when you yourself played the tracks. The graph is incorrectly colored orange as "Favorites", when it should be red as for "Plays".

This might happen when a user removes their account, and the traces of their activity on SoundCloud is also removed.

We will fix this, to only remove the user account and not affect the stats for tracks.

The API search works almost the same way as the search on the web site.

http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks?q=va... search for track matching "vanilla" or "ice"

http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks?q="vanilla+ice" search for track matching "vanilla ice" as a phrase.

There is no way to filter out your favorites in the search query. But you can retrieve all your favorites from http://api.soundcloud.com/me/favorites and then filter them out with a script on your side.

It's sounds as if you want to get the stream of a private track. This is done by signing a GET request to the stream url with OAuth, passing the OAuth parameters in the URL. You can read more here: http://wiki.github.com/soundcloud/api...

I assume that you're referring to the SoundCloud Front application. It's source code is available on GitHub. If you look at line 39 of the HomeController, you see that file at the given URI is downloaded and then uploaded to SoundCloud.

Questions about the API is best put and answered in the API Discussion Group.

It's possible to read the genre of a specific track, but right now it's not possible to search on genre, though this will be implemented within the next two weeks.

Non members should be able to see the description as well as other track meta data. However, during the weekend a bug had sneaked in preventing unregistered visitors to see this info. It will be fixed shortly.

Is it possible that the email is registered with another account?

If that is the case you can go to http://soundcloud.com/login/forgot and enter the email address and reset the password for the other account.

Lists of all users who played/downloaded the track is available in the right column of each track's stat page. At the bottom of the list there is a "View all" link if there are additional records not shown in the list.
