fladvad replied on December 10, 2008 11:11 to the idea "Rating songs = better recommendations/statistics" in Spotify:
I think that is why it might work. If you like EMO and Synth music you would get recommendations appropriately. But first and foremost I think we need to get ratings for our own sake, so we can rate music we like like we do in Itunes. Then you can play random favorite music without creating playlists for all of it.
fladvad replied on December 09, 2008 23:45 to the question "Why do songs disapear." in Spotify:
I think Spotify really needs to communicate more about why songs are disappearing. If you had contracts with musicians why are all of them broken on masse? I really don't believe that as much as 30 000 songs disappeared because bands like Metallica doesn't want to be on Spotify. There are other reasons, right? Its quite a bit of content that have disappeared over the last month, and I am really starting to doubting the service. Do you need to create an extra level of premium to cover the cost of the music that is disappearing because it cost too much? Well, then, just add that.-

fladvad replied on October 31, 2008 18:52 to the question "Collaborative play list in Spotify" in Spotify:
Yes, collaborative playlists are just shared by the link. If you keep the link 'contained' within your circle of friends it will be yours only. If you post it on the web, in all likelyhood it will be public goods and anything can happen to it.
My recommendation is to make backup lists of your collaborative playlists, since anyone could delete the whole content by accident.-

fladvad shared an idea in SoundCloud on October 16, 2008 21:53:
Statistics on tracks played from start to endfull statistics for the Pro normal and Pro Max account could include stats on not only played, but interrupted play on a song. In my opinion a full listening, from start to finish, means its a really good song, and that could be a measure of how professional/good your track actually is, if technology actually permits tracking that kind of data.
I dont know how played is counted now, if its only a few seconds of a track or if it is half the track like in iTunes.
More statistics would mean more incentive for serious users to upgrade to Pro normal / pro max accounts.
